Fun Treasures & Some Finished Projects

Today, I am going to show off three of the finished projects for my guest room make-over.

I found this unstretched oil painting of roses for $5.00.
I purchased a 1/2 price frame at Hobby Lobby ($9.00)
I tightly wrapped and taped the canvas to the board that came with the frame.
And, of course, I gave the frame a new finish!!!

I am lovin' this sweet lamp. I got her for $5.00!! I KNOW!!!
She had some nicks and chips, but after a little liquid gold and some glaze, she is as good as new!
She needed to be taller to look right with the lamp on the opposite side of the bed.
I had this column riser that I finished to match.
She is already proudly in place on one side of the guest room bed.

Guests of the canine persuasion will be sleeping in the newly decorated guest bedroom. I felt that it was very important that they be just as comfortable as their owners.

I have had this metal bed for three years.
It has looked exactly like this for three years.

Set of three cotton hand towels from TJ Maxx ($3.99)
Two tiny feather pillow forms (already had these)
____________________________________________________

I used the solid towel to cover the mattress.
The other two towels were used to make pillows.
The striped fabric is a simple pillowcase.
The floral trimmed fabric is a fitted cover with opening for easy washing.

Miss Bella gets to try out the newly dressed bed first.

Not too long before Bella gets some company!

The first real guests, Ginger and Mary Ann, enjoying the newly dressed guest bed

This will be the last time this season that we can party with Rhoda at "Southern Hospitality" for "Today's Thrifty Treasures". Thanks Rhoda for lots of summer fun!

I am also linking to "Between Naps on the Porch for "Met Monday". Susan is another great hostess.

Kimba has moved her "DIY Party" to Tuesday this week. So, let's go over and visit her at "A Soft Place To Land". A lot of creativity is awaiting!

Keep watching for the complete guest room make-over. I promise it will happen soon.
There are a few more things that I want to do first.

Hi Rhoda,
That figurine lamp is so sweet, and so is your doggy bed makeover! I bet that vintage rose painting looks terrific when it is hung.
